Washington, D.C.: By executive order, President Trump authorized what aides are calling the “Second Louisiana Purchase,” officially acquiring Canada, making it the 51st state, and rebranding it as “Ameri-Can.”

“They are tough negotiators,” Trump said. “Very tough. We conceded a lot—maybe too much.” Among the terms of the deal: a second Major League Baseball franchise for Canada through the return of the Montreal Expos, and—“I love this one,” Trump added—making the song “O Canada” the official anthem of the NHL. “Frankly,” he said, “it already was, unofficially.”
